So, here I am waiting (for about 45 minutes) and I never see a soul on the trail. If you look hard in this picture, you can see the trail following the river:
While waiting, I keep hearing this still, small voice. Please, can we leave now! It's my 450. It's as cold as I am!
Ok, Ok, it's time to go. One last shot up river and we pull out of the wind whistling down the canyon:
We pull up out of the canyon and head back along the fun sand washes to the south of the ranches in Sinker Creek. I followed the old Southern Alternate of the Oregon trail for a ways, but it's pretty much gone now. Too bad, there used to be some great wagon ruts along that section.
I pulled up on the higway and followed the adjoining trail all the way back to the parking area. Oh, the heater in the old Jeep sure felt good! Home now, quad washed and dried, and now it's time for food!
Really not a bad day, just colder and dustier than I would have liked for late March.

As we get further down the trail, 3 Fingers Rocks starts to come into view:
Another few miles or so and we get our closet shot before we turn east and head back down to the main canyon. It was getting really windy and cold up on top:
We get down to the main gravel road and follow it into the canyon. It was still early in the year so nothing has greened up much, but is was still impressive:

We stop at the small State Park for lunch where I notice that they've replaced the bridge to the Antelope Springs trail. Here is a shot looking up to the start of the trail:

Finally, the last shot of the day looking down at the main road/canyon from the Antelope Springs trail:
We worked our way north, all the way to Graveyard Point, then followed the power lines back to Succor Creek. All in all we did about 60 miles.

We had a lot of fun as we haven't been on this loop for about 5 years or so!

Here we are unloading and gearing up. We drove out in Kathy's fancy rig. Ladies always get the best...
It was a little windy, but it actually felt pretty good as the temperatures were in the lower 60's and we were plenty warm on the bikes. Here's the boss. Still looking good!
Still would like to see some real rain. The desert is really dry and no feed is coming up at all. Going to be some hungry cows if this doesn't improve.

Here I am unloading at the 2nd parking lot. Only two rigs in the whole place.
I only did 20 miles today. Everything is still really sore. Good thing you don't sit down much on a dirt bike. I forgot just how hard and narrow the seat on my 250X is!
